An Unexpected,
Amazing Journey

During the half day of prayer in August at the One
Mission Society World Headquarters, OMS United
Kingdom Board of Trustees Chairman Bill Anderson
shared his recent faith journey via Skype.
When Bill heard the word “unfortunately” from his
doctor, it began a journey that he and his wife Lilias
never expected to take. But it became a time that Bill now
refers to as amazing, sharing that they learned much during
this unexpected journey.
What followed the word “unfortunately” that day in the doctor’s office
was the news that Bill had cancer in his neck … a large tumor had attached
itself to part of his neck structure. The doctor went on to tell the Andersons
that he couldn’t remove the tumor because of its location and needed to refer
them to another doctor.
When a scan was conducted in October 2014, the tumor was clearly visible.
But upon referral to the oncologist and another scan the following January, Bill
and Lilias heard news they had prayed for.
“I can’t find the tumor.”
The doctor even asked Bill to show her where the tumor was located, but

still she was not able to find it.
