Faithful in the Fury
The OMS Israel team ministered more effectively in 2025 than in previous years. Not because they had more help, a larger budget, or anything extraordinary. Rather, they have simply been faithful— and God has allowed them to do more.
In 2025, the team distributed more than 400 food boxes to people in need, including Holocaust survivors and new immigrants. They continued meeting with people in one-on-one discipleship, sometimes with those who do not yet believe. They also held regular congregational meetings amid the challenges of war.
War has been their greatest challenge. Since October 7, 2023, the country has had no true peace. The situation intensified in early 2026 with conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon. Living in the north means that hearing explosions and running to shelters is now part of daily life. As stressful as this is, they have seen God continue to use them to serve others and share the Good News in the midst of war.
Secret Believer
The OMS Italy team regularly hosts short-term teams from other countries to evangelize in their city. This equips and encourages the teams and multiplies interactions between locals and believers.
One team met a man from a Middle Eastern country at an English outreach event. As their conversation deepened, he shared that he had been a secret believer for years! Despite living in the city for three years, he had never met another believer there and had never been baptized. He was ecstatic to meet believers who cared about him and welcomed him so lovingly. He immediately asked to be baptized, and two days later, he was.
The OMS Italy team was already discipling another believer from the same country. When the two met, they were both astonished to find another brother in Christ from their homeland. This man’ s life has been transformed by the Lord’ s provision of Christian community and discipleship.
