Richard Young
Richard Young has grown to become a recognizable staple in the Caribbean fashion landscape . Over the past 30 years , his extensive talent as a stylist , production designer , fashion coordinator , creative director and prolific impresario has led him to become one of the most sought-after creative industry consultants in the region . He has been working consistently producing fashion , beauty , and cultural industry related events in a number of countries .
Acknowledged , at the Barbados Music Fashion and Film Awards , for his resilient contribution to the development of Caribbean fashion branding , he was presented with a Regional Lifetime Achievement Award . In 2014 , at the annual excellence of service awards of the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries , he was nominated in three categories - “ best use of innovation in services ”, “ service exporter of the year ” and “ service provider of the year ”. He sees his hallmark effort to be commissioned as creative director of “ Cuttin ’ Style ”, a Caribbean fashion exposition and extravaganza staged as part of
“ Panamania ”, the Art and Culture programme of Pan Am Games , Toronto , 2015 . Throughout his career , he has been singled out , through many an accolade , as exemplary in his commitment to the principle of a regional fashion ideology - the Government of Guyana bestowed a plaque for his excellence in directing the fashion component of Carifesta IX ; Shabeau Magazine rewarded him with an award of excellence in the pursuit of branding Caribbean fashion ; the executive of Guyana Fashion Week accredited him , for his uncompromising contribution to the advancement of its local fashion industry . In 2015 , Styleweek Port of Spain presented him with a “ fashion industry pioneer award ”.
Nicole Dyer-Griffith
Prior to Nicole ’ s introduction to the National Community as Miss Trinidad and Tobago 1999 for Miss Universe , she had a very successful path in fashion performance industry , where she travelled the Caribbean walking for most of the region ’ s top designers . During that period , Nicole undertook her Associates Degree in Nursing and served as a registered nurse . Nicole later left her career in nursing to enter the Miss Universe competition in 1999 , where she won best national costume .
Nicole placed her fashion career on hold to pursue her corporate development , where she supported the introduction of a behavioural risk management programme at PETROTRIN ’ s EAP Services Limited . She later moved to the position of Group Corporate Communications Manager at the ANSA McAL Group , with communications stewardship for over sixty companies . She left the corporate world for the second time to pursue National political service , and functioned as a Government Senator , and Parliamentary Secretary in what was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Communications , where she represented and presented on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago at the United Nations , and other International fora dedicated to development , and particularly in the areas of youth , and women ’ s empowerment . Nicole served as Political Leader , Chairman and Deputy Chairman of two political parties in Trinidad and Tobago . She founded and is patron of the GIII Foundation , an organization that focuses on the provision of life skills management training for youth , and more recently , developed and hosted the Oxygen with Nicole Motivational Series , which has already crossed regional boundaries with a reach of over one thousand women , in Trinidad and Tobago , Guyana and Antigua . This recently led to the formation of the O2N Foundation .
