Raymond Scott from Boston Massachusetts
is better known by his stage name Benzino.
He is an American rapper, record producer,
an influential hip-hop media executive and
entrepreneur. He has been Chief Brand
Executive of The Source magazine while also
maintaining his craft as a rapper. Along with
David Mays, his partner for over 20 years,
Benzino is well-known for being part of the
biggest magazine in Hip Hop history, The
Source, which was launched in 1988 as a
single sheet newsletter out of Mays’s Harvard
University dorm room.
In November of 2006, Benzino and David Mays
launched Hip Hop Weekly, an informative
bi-weekly magazine designed to inform and
entertain readers. In October 2007 Hip Hop
Weekly was recognized by the prestigious MIN
Awards as one of the top 15 new magazines
of the year, out of more than 700 startups.
Recently the magazine has quickly risen to
become the #1 selling urban entertainment
magazine on newsstands in the US.
The popular reality star recently met with
Meukow cognac Brand Manager, Robert
Konieczny. This led to combining the
competitive elements of Hip Hop
with the fine taste of Meukow
cognac.
Benzino is now Meukow’s
new brand ambassador
and the company is
very enthusiastic
about his new
association
with the
brand.
