Supporting talented children to attend Pocklington School is central to our mission and ethos . Pocklington has a long tradition of providing bursarial / financial support to families with limited means and our aim now is to build our bursary fund so that more pupils may benefit for years to come from all the opportunities that Pocklington has to offer , no matter what their background or financial means .
Your support is invaluable and opens the doors of Pocklington to future generations . Please consider making a gift to our Shape the Future Bursary Fund . Your gift will be life-changing . Please contact Jenny Preston , Development Officer , prestonj @ pocklingtonschool . com for more information .

SHAPE THE FUTURE CASE STUDY
KIMALIN
Kimalin studied at Pocklington Sixth Form from 2020 to 2022 ; she has gone on to earn a distinction in her Art Foundation course and has recently begun studying Fine Art at Falmouth University . In 2023 she was commissioned to paint the official portrait of School ’ s outgoing Head Boy and Girl , which is now displayed in Pocklington School reception . She has also taught art at a summer school camp , and continues to apply all of the knowledge and opportunities she gained at Pocklington School to her life in the outside world .
Can you describe your experience at School ? I truly believe my experience at Pocklington was life-changing ; I felt like the community and relationships you develop at Pocklington are experiences I will struggle to find again elsewhere . I expanded my skills and knowledge in just the short time I spent at Pocklington with the help of the amazing support and community . I grew independently and made lifelong friends through boarding and my studies . I was able to try out many new things such as sports , for example , hockey and netball , and was also given the opportunity to apply and partake in roles of responsibilities – resulting in prefect and head of boarding .
What have you taken from your time at Pocklington School ? From my time at school , I have taken away lifelong friends , an experience I will never forget . I feel truly fortunate to have experienced an the education that I would never otherwise have experienced . I believe that it enhanced my skills and knowledge further ; I was free to explore my interests in my creative subjects , which led me to create things I never thought I could create , such as oil paintings , installations , and videography .

What was the best part about attending Pocklington School ? My favourite part of attending Pocklington school was creating in the art studio and living in Faircote house . I always felt supported in both communities and felt that boarding allowed me to strengthen my relationships with friends and teachers further . Faircote felt like my second home , and everyone felt like a second family to me . I ’ m also very grateful for the supportive , kind teachers all around who helped me in my studies . I knew I could always get help when needed , and the smaller class sizes made studies easier , and one-to-one help more accessible .
