Through interviews with influencers , activists and educators , a diverse range of topics are discussed which are linked to the Personal , Social , Health and Economic education ( PSHE ) curriculum and pertinent to 13-16-year-olds . The series tackles the big questions with no subjects off limits and has overarching themes of informed consent , decision making and empowerment . The aim of the series is to break down taboos , inspire change and equip teenagers with the tools they need to thrive in the modern world .
Callum Doyle ( 01-08 ) has passed with distinction his Sports Governance course from the Chartered Governance Institute after a year of studying and attending virtual classes during the various lockdowns . Callum is Company Secretary at Surrey County Cricket Club and General Manager of the Oval Invincibles .
Jodie Hill ( 00-06 ), the Leeds-based employment lawyer , was delighted to be appointed by the Law Society to sit as a member of its Employment Law Committee . Jodie ’ s appointment , announced in August 2020 , draws upon her experience as a practitioner in the field of employment and HR law , advising both employers and employees , and builds on Thrive Law ’ s ( the law firm founded by Jodie ) recent selection by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a principal provider of equality , diversity and inclusion ( EDI ) mentoring support to smalland medium-sized law practices . As well as winning multiple industry awards , the latest being the Small Business category in the Northern Power Women Awards , Thrive continues to expand , making its first Partner appointment in 2020 as well as appointing an additional solicitor to its senior team in support of its ambitious growth plans .

Nick Hobbs ( 99-04 ) joined real estate services firm JLL in March as their Client Sustainability Lead focusing on the UK and the EU , based in Canary Wharf , London .
James Hopwood ( 95-04 ) and Tom Screeton ( 98-09 ) featured in an episode of ‘ Dom Digs In ’, the BBC One series hosted by Dom Littlewood giving hands-on insights into the vital role of Britain ’ s essential workers . In the programme , James ( UK & Italy Agriculture Manager ) and Tom ( Senior Agricultural Fieldsman ) give Dom a crash course in the Birds Eye pea harvesting process , offering him first-hand experience of the round-the-clock harvesting operation and the hard work , attention to detail and speed required to ensure all peas go from picked to frozen within 150 minutes of being harvested .
Guy Littlejohn ( 01-07 ) has launched his own commercial consulting firm , Facets . Since its foundation in April 2020 , the business has rapidly grown from one consultant to a team of six and already boasts an impressive list of SME clients in the marketing , digital and technology sectors .
With a remote working approach , Facets provides business development expertise to its clients by heading up their commercial teams on a part-time basis . Services include sales , partnerships , marketing and client development . Guy said : “ By working with us , they gain the services of a highly experienced commercial director on a flexible , part-time basis to suit individual business needs and budget requirements . I have been amazed at how quickly we have grown , and I can ’ t wait to see where we go from here .”
Frances Plant ( 97-05 ) successfully combined two of her passions – the natural world and education – to launch a forest school business with a Pocklington School parent , Karen Griggs . Old Forge York Forest School offers tailor-made forest school sessions to primary schools and early years education providers in the Yorkshire region .
Richard Staniford ( 94-04 ) has relocated from London to the North-East to head up the Land Department for leading homebuilder , Homes by Esh . Following his time at Pocklington School , Richard went on to study Real Estate Development at Sheffield Hallam University . Prior to taking up his new role , he spent 15 years working in the property sector in the South of England in a variety of roles for multinational companies and private developers .
Ollie Wride ( 96-07 ) released a new single ‘ Never live without you ’ which was named track of the week on ‘ BBC Music Introducing on Radio Humberside ’. In March 2021 , he performed with his full backing band in a one-night exclusive show online . The show which was available worldwide , showcased a selection of songs from his debut album ‘ Thanks In Advance ’, along with fan favourites and brand new material . Daniel Wright ( 97-04 ) has been appointed to sit part-time as a fee paid judge in the Employment Tribunal allocated to the London South region . He will continue to work part-time with the Government Legal Department as he takes this next step in his career .

Tom Albrecht ( 01-12 ) hosted a virtual Zoom meet-up for Canada-based OPs in January 2021 . The aim was to make new connections in the region and it is hoped to do another one next year when hopefully a few more OPs will be able to join .
Laura Baarda ( 03-10 ) an interior designer at Bowman Riley ( Architects , Building Consultants and Interiors ), has been accepted into the British Institute of Interior Design .
William Campbell ( 12-14 ) was nominated and elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts ( FRSA ) earlier this year . Congratulations !
Lauren Coatsworth ( 09-17 ) has secured a role at PVH Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein working as a Merchandising Assistant in London . She was awarded first class honours in her Fashion Buying and Merchandising degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in July .
Florence Colbeck ( OP 13-19 ) is at the New College of the Humanities ( NCH ) in London studying BA Art History with English . Before starting her studies , Florence attended a specialist , two-week summer camp at their sister university , Northeastern , at their campus in Boston , USA , in preparation for the start of her degree . After returning to the UK , Florence quickly settled into her course and life in London , enjoying the University ’ s Bloomsbury campus before the first lockdown . She accessed a wide range of resources across London , including the V & A Archives at Blythe House to research Islamic Art and Byzantine Art and view a gilded Koran manuscript at a gallery in Mayfair . She delivered a presentation as part of a lecture on
