OP SOCIAL EVENTS AND REUNIONS
NEWCASTLE DRINKS
A bumper number of OPs came along to this year ’ s OP Newcastle drinks event on Thursday 30 January at ‘ As You Like It ’, the popular Jesmond-based venue . Those hosting the event were OP President , Trevor Loten ( 70-80 ) and Pocklington School colleagues Charlie Lambert ( 01-08 , OP committee member ), Patrick Dare , Doc Dyson ( Former staff , 88-18 ) and Rachel Dare .
Over 30 OPs called in for drinks and a catch up including Kelvin Tong ( 89-94 ), a former Hong Kong boarder who now lives in the North East .
Trevor said a few words of thanks to everyone for coming and passed on apologies from those who were unable to make it before raising a toast in memory of OP and former teacher , Malcolm Milne who passed away in January .
MANCHESTER DRINKS
OP President , Trevor Loten ( 70-80 ) hosted the inaugural Manchester drinks event along with colleagues from Pocklington School including Toby Seth ( Headmaster ), Patrick Dare , Doc Dyson ( Former staff , 88-18 ) and Rachel Dare .
Amongst those attending were two former Head Boys : Henry Foster ( 09-19 ) and Andrew Rose ( 86-93 ); Will Wilson ( 51-58 ) and John Goose ( 57-64 ) were the most senior OPs at the event and the largest cohort were the 2019 leavers .
Trevor commented : “ What a fabulous event and great to see so many OPs from such a broad range of leaving years mixing and socialising together – some fantastic networking going on which is what the OP network is all about .”
Henry Foster said : “ It ’ s been a really good evening and I hope there ’ ll be another one in the future !”
Manchester will definitely be on the list for future OP drinks events once it is safe for the OP events to be back up and running . See the OP website for all event updates .
