Celebrate Jody Allen SEPTEMBER 7, 1972 – MARCH 28, 2025
Saturday at Cottonwood Creek Stage 1:00-2:00 p. m.
In early 2025 the festival lost its( unofficial) official campground greeter. Since the very first OIBF Jody Allen has been at almost every festival. He made his way through the campgrounds to every campsite. He introduced himself and welcomed folks to the festival. He greeted everyone with a smile and a hug.
He never missed playing shaker egg or harmonica in the Random Band Jam and gathered CDs and autographs from most of the musicians.
His efforts were recognized when“ Jody Allen Day” was celebrated on Oct. 6, 2016 by
Guthrie Mayor Chuck Burtcher. His ever-present smile and positive presence will be missed.
“ Jody was one of our favorite people. Now he’ s one of our favorite angels,” Doug Hawthorne, OIBF board member commented.
Jody played a vital role in Random Band Jam,
either as a participant or photographer. We love and miss you, Jody!
