Hunt Brothers Band

When you mix a group of well-decorated and talented musicians , you can almost certainly expect something great . It ’ s when their bond is forged by blood and their roots run deep that you can truly hear the magic . While The Hunt Brothers officially originated in May of 2022 , their harmonic journey began long before .

As young boys , Jonathan and Andrew Hunt vowed to always make music together . In the early 2000 ' s , the catalyst to their creativity and drive just so happened to be a move from Kansas to Oklahoma . In their new-found hometown , they would meet Byron Berline and John Hickman who , as personal and professional mentors , would forever change the course of these aspiring artists . With the involvement of Jonathan and Andrew ' s parents , it didn ' t take long for The Hunt Family Band to not only manifest , but to also gain
some notoriety around their stomping grounds and beyond . The band ' s appearance at OIBF in 2018 paved the way to a new relationship with guitar player , Samuel Grounds . This budding trio would be complete with Andrew on the fiddle and mandolin , Jonathan on the banjo and Sam on the guitar . Be it fate or just good timing , this was the recipe that enabled The Hunt Brothers to take shape and make a childhood dream a reality .
In addition to their own writing , recording , and performing , The Hunt Brothers play the role of house band at Byron Berline ’ s Double Stop Fiddle Shop and Music Hall where they perform regularly . With impressive accolades from each band member , it ' s no wonder OIBF is excited to welcome these brothers back .

Doris grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and started developing her incredible vocal skills as a youngster singing with her Daddy , a fiddler . She got her bluegrass start in an all-girl group appropriately called Angel Band . She loves the music and the audiences love her performances .
Mike grew up in the Oklahoma bluegrass scene with his family producing those great Little River and Cement Bluegrass Festivals . He started playing music in one of those kid “ super bands ” called the Blue Grass Revue . Over the years , Mike has supplied upright bass with such notable musicians as Vince Gill , Ricky Skaggs , and Buck White .
Ron started playing bluegrass in southern Oklahoma . Moving to France , he joined a local acoustic group and found some “ interesting opportunities ” to broaden his repertoire . While living in South Carolina , he concentrated on traditional bluegrass .
Bob started playing banjo in 1973 in Norman , Oklahoma . He has had the good fortune of playing with some of the best musicians Oklahoma has to offer over the last 45 years . As you can tell from the other members of this band , his luck continues to this day !
The GFBB members are known for playing in such long-term and wellknown bands as Cimarron Station , The John Arnold Band , and High Ground Bluegrass Band . IBF
