Program and poster art was a collaborative effort between Sam Parks and Ashley Kulik . Sam is a Duncan , OK native who is multi-talented as he is also the mandolin player for The Fretliners , performing here at the festival . Ashley is a full-time graphic design artist and is originally from Columbia , MD . She is also a musician and will be releasing her solo EP by the end of this year under her artist name , Ashley Willfire . Both currently live in Lyons , CO .
As an homage to Byron Berline , Parks wanted to feature the fiddle on this year ’ s poster art and had the idea of a “ buffalo head ” fiddle to include
ABOUT THE COVER
Oklahoma ’ s state animal and create something that ’ s never existed before The Buffalo Head fiddle . The inspiration spawned from okie fiddler Randy Crouch ’ s lion ’ s head fiddle .
“ I ’ ve always wanted a buffalo head fiddle , but it doesn ’ t exist , so I had to draw it to get it out of my head at least ,” Parks said . “ Ashley then came in with her hand drawn roses , olive branches and beautiful color compositions and really completed my oval field , sky and banner layout . Then she worked her font magic . It was our first professional collaboration and lots of love was poured into it .”
