MELODIC AND SENSORY LEARNING IS FUN !
A
multi-sensory experience is in store for kids filing into the OIBF Youth Tent this year . Hundreds of youth will enjoy live music and art lessons they will not soon forget . Beverly and Jesse Ray , along with many volunteers will create a musical and artsy atmosphere in the Youth Tent where kids can use their imagination and creativity . Crafting can range from weaving yarn between popsicle sticks , making cornhusk dolls , mobiles and parachutes .
Child studies have shown that early musical experiences accelerate brain growth especially in language development and reading skills . Even better , learning to play an instrument improves mathematical learning . Art projects and crafting gives children free reign to create independently and be proud of the results of what they ’ ve accomplished .
Festival goers young and old are welcomed to stop in and enjoy the activities and music . The Youth Tent is also where the Youth Band Competition and the Byron Berline Youth Instrument Championships take place on the Saturday of the festival . The Youth Tent located on the southeast corner of the festival is free of charge . IBF
