her rice bowl. Overall the food was very
good.
Oklahoma is notorious for its remarkable
restaurants, ranging from swanky
to casual. And while we have many
wonderful restaurants along the Route
66 corridor in Oklahoma, there’s one
that stands out in the Tulsa area. Soul
City is housed in an old gas station, and
is reminiscent of a place you might find
in Haight Ashbury during the 1960’s.
The eclectic décor makes you wonder if
this is an art studio, a jewelry store, or a
restaurant and nightclub.
Soul City is an unusual dining and
nightlife experience different from
any other I have discovered in Tulsa.
It encapsulates the heart and soul
of Tulsa’s music scene as a popular
venue for live performances by a litany
of Oklahoma’s finest musicians. The
backyard/patio is perfect for those of us
who enjoy sitting outside. By the way,
did I tell you Soul City has motorsickle
parking directly in front of the building?!
Soul City is open Tuesday thru
Saturday and is located at 1621 E 11 th St
in Tulsa. Check them out on Facebook
or go to www.tulsasoul.com for more
information.

ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with
Roasted Red Pepper Gouda soup. The
bread was perfectly toasted with lots of
melted creamy cheese on the sandwich,
and lucky for Cheryl, it was big enough
to share with her after she couldn’t finish
