I was asked last October , “ How do you winterize your motorcycle for winter in Oklahoma ?” I explained it is appropriate to put fresh fuel and fluids in them , and to hook them to a battery tender is likewise a good idea . You don ’ t want to store them in mothballs because in Oklahoma we commonly have decent enough weather to ride year-round . This year is no exception . As I write this on Valentine ’ s Day , we have had very little inclement weather this year . Still , you know how Oklahoma weather is … you may be knee deep in snow as you read this Ragazine .
It was 80 + degrees last weekend , and Cheryl and I rode out around Skiatook Lake . Looking at my odometer I realized I had ridden this motorcycle less than 600 miles in the past year . Those of you who remember my old FXR know I rode that motorcycle at least 25,000 miles annually . Contemplating the difference in mileage I am determined to ride my motorsickle more often in 2017 .
There are lots of events going on in the next couple of months . I plan to attend many of them like the Hogs 4 Service Dogs and Hogs for Hunger rides . The Humble Road Church is giving away a motorcycle at their annual birthday party this year . I could use another motorsickle , so I may ride across the Osage County Prairie to Bartlesville , and attend their birthday party . While I am in Bartlesville I
One event I am looking forward to this year is the Steel Horse Rally in Fort Smith , AR . This event continues to grow year after year , and we are planning to be a part of it this year . Discoveryland is hosting their second motorcycle rally in May . This event is so close to Tulsa , I don ’ t see how it can fail , especially with such amazing rally grounds .
