College Rankings

Colleges are judged by many aspects including, but not limited to, average
class size, graduation rate, and acceptance rate. However, conventional college
rankings leave out one important factor: the quality of the Latin motto. So, here is
the list of colleges in Ohio ranked by their mottos, the only real metric you should
be using when deciding which college to
attend.
1. Youngstown State University:

2. Kenyon College: Magnanimiter
Crucem Sustine (Valiantly bear
the cross)
3. University of Cincinnati: Juncta
Juvant and Alta Petit (Strength in
Unity and Seek the Highest)

4. Ohio Wesleyan University: In

5. University of Akron: Fiat Lux (Let There Be Light)
6. Xavier University: Vidit Mirabilia Magna (He has seen great wonders)
7. College of Wooster: Scientia et religio ex uno fonte (Knowledge and
religion from one source)
8. Ohio University: Religio Doctrina Civilitas, Prae Omnibus Virtus (Religion,
Learning, Civility; Above All, Virtue)
9. The Ohio State University: Disciplina in civitatem (education for
citizenship)
10. Miami University: Prodesse Quam Conspici (To accomplish without being
conspicuous)
