Although many people, including myself, are becoming obsessed with their cellphones, they truly are an amazing tool. They can be used to settle an argument about Rome’s worst emperor, to record a fun video with your friends, to snap some cool pictures (and submit them to the convention photo contest!), to share your stories with your family and non-JCLers, and to keep in touch with all the new people you meet. Deodorant This is an essential for convention. Between the sweaty general assemblies, intense nerve wracking certamen matches and just the body doing its thing, we all sometimes catch ourselves sweating through our shirts or being a little smellier than we’d like to be. With just a little deodorant, both your shirts and your neighbors during spirit will be very grateful. Snacks No convention room is complete without a table full of food your mom would probably not approve of. Everything crunchy, loud, brightly colored, or definitely way too sweet is a must. Maybe think about bringing some cuties mandarins or apples for a healthy break. 4 Essentials for Convention Historian Lucia Boadas Peña A Hair Tie This one is super important for spirit at GAs. My first few rounds of spirit I was too naive to know how crucial this was, but after my first time tying my hair up and feeling the air touch my neck, I finally understood what I was missing. When I I tie my hair back I prevent it from turning into a giant frizzy mess, I free myself from having to move it out of my face every time I jump, and I cool myself down. Overall, hair ties are definitely something to pack for any JCLer with long hair. OJ er do s i t s a t b pu n ba t e ha in ha ti
