OJCL Torch Spring 2018 | Page 7

A Note from the President Salvē! My name is Grant Bruner, and I am your 2018-2019 Ohio Junior Classical League President. And this year, I am overjoyed to help the OJCL as head of the OJCL Executive Board. The Executive Board already has a good start on planning this year’s activities. 1st VP Hanna Zandvakili is organizing our Ohio Classics week activities, from April 21st to April 28th. She is also trying to incorporate ideas from local Gubernators, Treasurer Katlyn Havlin, and other officers in order to make the daily events for Classics week even more meaningful and action-packed. Stay tuned for more announcements about Ohio Classics Week on the OJCL website! One of the OJCL’s most exciting innovations thus far is the creation of a official OJCL calendar. Available at https:/ ojcl.org/calendar/, this new addition will compile all OJCL events, deadlines, and local Certamina in a single visual document. We especially encourage smaller and new clubs to monitor the calendar to get involved in local MADD events, Certamina, OJCL submissions and more. Likewise, be sure to check out the OJCL facebook page, as well as Twitter and Instagram, for updates on what’s new in Ohio. 6
