The Top 8 Ways to Banish Post-Convention Depression
Ellie Kammerer, OJCL Historian
We’ve all been there. Sitting at your desk at home
pretending to be doing your homework when you’re actually on
your phone scrolling through the convention pictures on the OJCL
Flickr and scanning the program. Post-Convention Depression, or
PCD, affects even the best of us. Not to worry though, since
plenty of people have all experienced this slump, there are a few
ways to combat the feeling of sadness you get when you realize
the highlight of the school year is over.
1. Sleep. Sleep will free you from all t hose emotions
convention just made you feel and you probably missed
a lot of it watching HGTV with your friends all night.
2. Make a PCD post on Facebook (or any social media
platform). It’s become a tradition for Facebook
timelines to be flooded with sappy posts about how
much we love the JCL. Make one. Post it. Read the
other ones if you’re feeling extra invested.
3. Do your homework. Open up your math text book and
just go. It’s much easier to not miss something if you’re
trying to focus on simplifying trigonometric functions, right?
4. Start working on plans for next year’s convention!
