Stay Hydrated!
• Spirit is easily one of the most exhausting parts of
any JCL convention! Jumping around and
screaming your head off for fifteen minutes
straight can be physically and emotionally taxing,
so it’s best to drink plenty of water before spirit to
ensure that you can participate to the best of your
ability!
Have Fun!
• While there is a competitive
aspect to spirit, the most
important part is to enjoy
yourself and have fun. Spirit
is all about jumping around
with your friends and
smiling, so be sure to smile.
Be Organized!
• It is crucial to make sure you have all of
your props and clothing items for spirit!
Uniformity is a super important part of
spirit, and is what makes spirit so visually
pleasing. Always make sure you know
what you are required to bring for spirit to
achieve this effect!

Get Loud!
Keep Your Hands High!
• Raising your hands above your head
contributes to the overall visual effect and
uniformity of your chapter’s spirit! This
trick is the ultimate attention grabber for
spirit judges and is sure to turn heads.
• Do not be afraid to yell as loud as
possible! If there is any time to use your
outside voice inside, it is during spirit. If
you start to lose your voice, then you
know you are doing a good job!
