the long walk to the Fargodome for the awards ceremony. There, Ohio won tons of awards and
Andrew Cahall was elected the 2019-2020 NJCL Communications Coordinator. The sun began
to shine bright and all JCLers gathered for the Roman Procession to the Fargodome. During GA,
Ohio got recognized for a lot of awards, and one OJCLer got recognized for helping with service.
As the evening proceeded, the Farewell Dance started. JCLers began to take the dance floor and
dance like there was no tomorrow. JCLers said their goodbyes. Pictures were taken. Sadly, NJCL
convention ended … until 2020 at the University of Richmond in Virginia. -Craig Bush

North Spring Service: On a
beautiful day in June, a
group of Shaker students
made a trip to the Greater
Cleveland Foodbank for the
spring service event. Upon
arrival, the group signed in
and was introduced to what
was going to happen during
the event. The group began
to sort various produce, but
one person was separated
from the rest on account of
not wearing closed toe
shoes. Luckily for him, the
people at the foodbank let him do a different job in the
OJCLers hard at work at a service event
meeting room instead of repackaging in the main work
area. They sorted through a variety of produce to sort the good food from the moldy and rotten.
For two hours, Shaker worked hard and managed to get many crates of boxed food completed.
Upon completion, the foodbank was thankful for how productive the group was. Although it was
only Shaker people, spring service was still a success and Shaker had fun doing it. – Craig Bush
