How to Plan Your Own Park Service Event:
1. Email your local parks district. Include how long you plan on
attending, name the park(s), and what date you are looking at.
2. Solidify plans with the parks committee and make a flier
with the official information!
3. Create some form of a sign up, whether that be
confirmation via email, a physical list, or texting. Make sure in
SOME WAY that you have a decent idea of attendance
numbers.
4. Make a list of supplies. I recommend gloves, buckets, trash
bags, and hand sanitizer for after you’re done.
5. Plan a food party after! You’re working hard, so you
deserve some pizza.
6. Create a loose itinerary that way you may change things up
if need be, but you still have a plan for the day.
7. Above all, have fun! Thank your volunteers and relish in
the fact that you are making a difference, one step at a time.
