english issue significant assets to a third party . It also alleges that this divesture would not replicate the substantial competition between the two rivals that exists today . Assistant Attorney General Bill Baer of the department ’ s Antitrust Division said : “ This transaction is unprecedented in the breadth and scope of competitive overlaps and antitrust issues it presents . “ Halliburton and Baker Hughes are two of the three largest integrated oilfield service companies across the globe , and they compete to invent and sell products and services that are critical to energy exploration and production . We need to maintain meaningful competition in this important sector of our economy .” In response to the lawsuit , Halliburton and Baker Hughes announced that they intend to “ vigorously contest ” the DOJ ’ s effort to block the merger . They believe the department reached the wrong conclusion in its assessment of the transaction and that its action is counterproductive , especially in the current market . The companies said they intend to demonstrate that the department has underestimated the highly competitive nature of the oilfield services industry , the many benefits of the proposed combination , and the sufficiency of the divestitures . Once completed , the transaction will allow customers to operate more cost effectively , the companies say . Both companies previously agreed to extend the time period to obtain regulatory approvals to no later than April 30 , 2016 , as permitted under the merger agreement . If the judicial review extends beyond April 30 , the parties may continue to seek relevant regulatory approvals or either of the parties may terminate the merger agreement .

Amarinth to supply pumps for Middle East projects
Amarinth , a leading company specialising in the design , application and manufacture of centrifugal pumps and associated equipment to the oil and gas , petrochemical , chemical , industrial and power markets , is developing ever closer relationships with European engineering , procurement and construction ( EPC ) companies with an order to supply high-quality , bespoke API 610 VS4 vertical pumps to Cannon BONO Artes for use by ADCO in the Middle East . With more projects being awarded by Middle East oil and gas organisations to European EPC companies , Amarinth has been strengthening its relationships with these EPCs . Amarinth recently underlined this with an order from Cannon BONO Artes in Italy to supply four super duplex API 610 VS4 pumps for a produced oily water separator treatment package destined for the ADCO Rumaitha and Shanayel Phase 3 enhanced oil recovery project . Rumaitha and Shanayel form part of the North East Bab ( NEB ) field located 31 km south west of Abu Dhabi City , UAE . NEB lies across the Abu Dhabi coastline in such a way that that Rumaitha and Shamayel are onshore but projects in these fields demand many offshore disciplines .
The four pumps , configured as two sets of two , were required on a tight 26 week delivery , a challenge that Amarinth , with its wealth of both offshore and on-shore projects in the Middle East , combined with its previous successes of supplying pumps to ADCO and familiarity with ADCO specifications , was easily able to meet . A range of standardised modules , consisting of assemblies and subassemblies , which have already checked against mating parts for clashes using computer-aided design tools , ensures that any variant assembled from the modules fits together perfectly . This innovative method of vertical pump design significantly reduces the engineering time compared to the traditional approach of designing pumps for each application ’ s unique length and working parameters . Oliver Brigginshaw , Managing Director of Amarinth , commented : “ We are seeing an increase in projects placed by the Middle East oil and gas companies with European EPCs and so we are pleased to be delivering our long-standing expertise in offshore and onshore projects to Cannon BONO Artes for this important ADCO project .
