Just over three years ago, my family and I made a 'tree change' from the hustle and bustle of Sydney's northern beaches, to a sleepy little town in East Gippsland, Victoria. Next month however, our local region will transform into the country's outdoor adventure capital when it hosts the annual Australian Adventure Festival (AAF). Offering participation opportunities for individuals and teams from all walks of life and varying fitness abilities, the AAF caters to the young and old, offering a range of events including mountain bike riding, kayaking and trail running. I'm a big believer that if fear is the reason, then it's not a valid reason – so in a bid to expand my own personal limitations, I am going to face my fear and doubt, and attempt the 25km mountain bike event. Why don't you set yourself a goal this month as well? If you can't make it to the AAF with me, then choose something you've always wanted to try or do something you've been putting off for too long!
