( Where, Oh Where? ) RECLAIM YOUR ZEN AT FALLS CREEK Dianne Galea heads to Falls Creek, where she gains a new perspective on life, happiness and the importance of slowing down. ere’s some background on me. I’ve made a transition in life after being a professional photographer for 17 years, to a recently qualified personal trainer. I’m loving the change, as fitness has always been my passion. I like running the most – actually no, I love running! In fact, I love running so much that last year I ran four ultras and a marathon. To be honest, I find it hard to slow down (let alone sit still!) and I don’t really sleep much. H When I was invited to attend a yoga retreat in Falls Creek Victoria, my instant reaction was ‘mmmm, I don’t really like yoga.’ For me, it’s too slow, I can’t get my heart rate up, and if I’m brutally honest I’d rather be doing lunges or squats! Neither my mind or my body enjoys being quiet! That all said, I know that slowing down is exactly what I needed. So I said ‘yes’ and decided to keep an open mind and embrace whatever the time away brought my way! Also, I’d seen pictures of the running trails (which looked breathtaking), and I was excited about going somewhere new. 34 SEPTEMBER 2015 ( OH! MAGAZINE ) Day 1 It’s the start of the Easter weekend. As usual everything is feeling rushed; I rush to the airport after barely any sleep; the plane is delayed because of technical difficulties, and I’m running late – and I hate being late for things! I am greeted at Falls Creek with some very big smiles from Rachel and Bill, who run Falls Creek Yoga Retreats. I instantly feel comfortable with them. Jo the marketing manager from Falls Creek Resort Management joins us for lunch and I quickly pick up that they all really love the area an
