STATS & FACTS
DO YOUR EGGS COME FROM HENS WHO EACH HAVE
ENOUGH SPACE TO FIT A KING SIZED BED?
With most free range hens in Australia farmed at 10,000 hens
per hectare, Sunny Queen Farms brand is leaping ahead of its
competitors by setting its own standard of just 1,500 hens per
hectare, which means each chook has more space than a king
sized bed when they are out in the paddock! Free Range eggs
account for almost 41% of the total eggs in supermarkets,
however consumers are often confused about what they are
buying and the space that the hens have to range outside. This
latest move by Sunny Queen Farms aims to address this so
consumers can be confident about what they are buying. To

PARENTS URGE KIDS TO GET MORE ACTIVE
The majority of Australian children (78%) are getting less
than the recommended daily amount of exercise, with one in
four (28%) getting less than half, according to new research
commissioned by MILO*. Parents fear their children’s lack of
activity will result in them becoming unhealthy and lead to
health problems later in life (37%). Other worries include
their children becoming overweight (14%) and developing low
self-esteem (12%). Australia’s Physical Activity & Sedentary
Behaviour Guidelines for Children, developed by the
Department of Health, recommend children between 5 and
12 participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every
day. To find out more visit www.milo.com.au/milo-champions
*The study was conducted online during February and March
2016 using a sample of 1,001 parents of children aged
between 6 and 12 years, from across Australia.
