FOR OPTIMUM HEALTH
ADD SOME PLAY TO YOUR DAY!
As grown ups, we often forget how to play. And if we haven’t
forgotten how to do it, then we usually forget to actually do it.
So, think about your typical day and how you feel at the start, in
the middle, and at the end of it. Do you feel excited? Anxious?
Sceptical? Stressed? Happy?
Incorporating some fun activities into your every day that will
make you laugh, smile, or even just breathe a sigh of relief, can
help you enjoy your days even more.
The activities you choose need not be elaborate or expensive. For
example:
•
•
•
•
•
•
dance around the loungeroom for a song or two (get the kids
to join in, if you have some!)
rug up and head to the beach for a winter stroll or some
sandcastle making (take the dog, if you have one)
get on the air guitar for a track or two
grab one of the new colouring books for adults and indulge
for ten minutes
have a go with some play dough
pick up a canvas and some paints, and try your hand as
Picasso!
By adding some play into your life, you just might lower your
stress levels, get a bit more oxygen in the tank, and smile a
truckload more! Have a crack and let us know how it goes.
