MAKE EVERY WORKOUT

( Exercise Adherence )
COUNT!
Paul Brown reminds us that every decision you make can move you
closer or further away from achieving your goals.
rab a handful of sand and you’ll
see thousands of grains, with
many millions more adding up to together
to make a beach. Individually, you might
be excused for thinking that one grain of
sand does no really make a difference
but the truth is, every one counts. And
this is equally true of your regular
workouts.
G
Your goals, your end game and your
overall health and vitality are, in fact,
the sum of every workout you do, every
opportunity you take to be active, and
every healthy food selection you make.
When you take a positive step, you move
closer to your goal, and when you either
opt out or, worse still, make a negative
choice, it absolutely can set your
progress backwards.
Statistically, it is estimated you lose 20
per cent of your acquired health and
fitness every week you miss, which really
can make a signficant impact.
The key is to find activities based on
what you like, what works well for your
body type, what suits your schedule, the
facilities and resources available, and
your budget. Then, set a rigid set of
targets in terms of frequency, intensity
and timelines.
Once you get to a point of health and
fitness you are happy with, then
maintaining this regime becomes a lot
easier and manageable; and in most
cases, it can even be a real pleasure
because you have made exercise and
recreation a fun and interesting part of
your life.
So the next time you hit the beach you’ll
care less about how many grains of sand
make up a handful and instead be able
to make the most of it and enjoy the
beautiful world in which we live.
