What does wellness actually mean?
‘Wellness’ is a tricky one to define but to
keep it simple, with our coach training
program we define it as ‘optimum mental,
physical and emotional health’. Wellness
is all about living a life that is fulfilling,
rather than looking at one’s financial
success or how many goals you’re kicking;
it’s more about the quality of the present
than the constant striving for the future.  

What’s the secret to successful
coaching?  
Letting the client take the lead and being
there as a supportive facilitator who can
be tough when needed (but in the right
way!). Wellness coaches provide expert
information when required. We deliver
that expertise first by asking permission
to do so, and then by providing options
for the client, rather than dictating what
they ‘should’ do. Wellness Coaches help
people see change as a journey that
should be enjoyed, rather than as some
Holy Grail that will change their lives
once they arrive there.

What is the most important ingredient
for people to truly change?
Self belief!

What is happening in 2014 for
Wellness Coaching Australia?
This year is a BIG one for us. We are
increasing our training programs from 20
hours to 120 hours with our first Level 3
starting in early February. Finally, there is a
pathway of training for people who want to
work with clients and help them understand
