Lonely Planet have identified their top ten holiday spots for families.

Lonely Planet has revealed the ten
destinations it believes are the most
family-friendly in Australia.

Each state and territory is represented on
the list, with Sydney Harbour claiming
the top spot, and Queensland scoring
three individual entries (Far North
Queensland & the Great Barrier Reef,
Gold Coast Theme Parks, and Brisbane).
“Broad, bronzed and open-skied,
Australia is built for family travel – a
dazzlingly diverse country strewn with
tropical reefs, surf beaches and snowy
heights,” Lonely Planet says. “The vast
distances between A and B can test
parental patience, but with some savvy
planning you can focus on the delights of
exploring with people much closer to
ground level than you are.”
