Not cheap but a fun day out and all indoors for wet days. Lots to see including the walk through tunnel with sharks, sting rays and the giant turtles. Free sort play area at the end too. Current offers on a well known cereal packet. Take a walk along the canal afterwards and feed the ducks.
Shellington’s Octo-Glow Lab - 15th July - 13th August - Take part in a range of interactive activities to discover how creatures of the deep use light to hide from predators, attract their prey and even talk to each other.
Trentham Estate – Stoke on Trent
About an hours drive away but well worth the visit on a sunny day. Big garden centre, shopping outlet village, The Monkey Forest and the Main estate park.
There is a walk around the lake with a trail to find all the fairy sculptures, both boat and a miniature train ride to try and a great play ground too. Perfect for a part way stop or for meeting up with family from further north.
