After replacing the left hand rear hub
spindle following Sedan, along with
assorted other issues we managed to
get the car back together the weekend
before the race.
Once we got there we realised we
were going to be playing in the mud,
instead of the normal clouds of dust.
This would be my second race as a
driver, my first was the 2013 Ladies
and Juniors.
We had battles with the mud and
water on the windscreen, a flat tyre, a
slight misfire, the air filter cover falling off and smashing into my
navigator’s leg and my shoelace
getting caught on the brake pedal.
But we got there.
We had a blast on a track that
improved as the weekend went on.
It’s the first time we have finished
full race distance in the Torana. Big
thanks to Dad for letting me drive,
Stacks of Stickers for their continued
support, RC Williams for setting up
the axle tube, the event organisers
and Offroading Online Magazine for
throwing these stories and pictures
together.
