Our home on the road consists of
our 2011 Holden Colorado towing
our MDC off-road camper trailer,
accompanied by our Oz-Tent. We
have modified our Colorado and
camper over the years to suit our
ever-changing needs. The one thing
we have learnt is to keep your
set-up minimalistic and basi c however, this doesn’t mean you need
to pass when it comes to creature
comforts.
Since leaving “everyday” life back
in October, 2011 our lives have
been an absolute adventure. Our
travels thus far have seen us
venture into every state and
territory minus Tasmania (sorry
Tassie, we are coming!) As we cross
items off our bucket list, the list
doesn’t seem to shrink in fact it
seems to grow daily. This proves
how much Australia has to offer.
We are so lucky to do what we do.
In five short years it feels like we
have lived numerous and varied
lives.
Our advice to people wanting to do

the same is simple: we firmly
believe in people doing it their way.
If you want to save enough so you
can travel without working, if you
want to work along the way, if you
want to go for three months or
three years. Do it! It’s your life. The
way we envisaged travelling was
not always how it happened but
what it comes down to for us now
is that it has become our lifestyle. If
we want to stay in one spot for 12
months we do it, for us this is
sustainable. We don’t want to put
an expiry date on our travels and
we don’t want to live a life designed
by someone else.
Even though sometimes we dream
of a place to call ours, we quickly
realise we do. While it may not be
the “Great Australian Dream” of a
suburban brick home with a white
picket fence. It is our “Australian
Dream”. When people along our
travels ask us; “Where’s home?” We
simply reply Australia. Australia is
our home; every inch of it.
