DAY 1 NGOMA BRIDGE TO MUCHENJE SAFARI LODGE DURATION : 4 HOURS DISTANCE : 120KM Muchenje Safari Lodge enjoys a unique position to the west of Botswana’s famed Chobe National Park. Muchenje sits on an escarpment with wonderful plains. Unusual for a Botswana Lodge, Muchenje is owner run and managed, which allows for a more personalised service. Muchenje offers 11 newly refurbished thatched Safari bungalows, each being beautifully appointed having its own unique view of the Chobe. The western riverfront is a lot quieter than the eastern riverfront. idyllic setting. Muchenje Safari Lodge’s position means that it is far away from the bustle in Kasane, and guests enjoy extensive game drives in a rarely visited section of the Chobe National Park. In addition, as the Lodge is located in the Chobe Forest Reserve, game walks and night drives are also available, which add immeasurably to the wildlife experience. The closest border control to Muchenje Safari Lodge is Ngoma Bridge Control (Namibia/Botswana). After crossing into Botswana at the Ngoma border turn right. The turnoff to Muchenje Safari Lodge is reached on the right after approximately 4km. You will be able to arrive at Muchenje Safari Lodge from 12 noon onwards. To take full advantage of your stay we recommend that you aim to arrive at about 12 noon. Camp Savuti is a small 10 bedded tented camp run by SKL, the operator of Savuti campsite. Savuti is known for its excellent game and offers good sightings throughout the year.
