Winter Adventures
Fatbiking.
Fernie’ s coolest winter activity – Fatbiking – takes you along groomed multi-use trails through the trees and up to viewpoints, if you’ re up for the challenge!
Bring your own fatbike or rent one at local bike shops and just go. If you can mountain bike you can fatbike, though it doesn’ t take much to get a sweat on, even in-10c temperatures. Read the Fatbiking 101 blog on our website.
A diversity of trails cater to this great activity. For beginners, practice along the Town Loop then progress to the Adaptive Trail up to Montane Hut. For the more experienced try
the new Montane Blue, Lower Ridgemont or Fernie Alpine Resort. More advanced options include Phat Bastard, Mushroom and Red Sonya, Upper Ridgemont or CONTRA.
Learn-to-fatbike and guided tours are offered at Fernie Alpine Resort on the daily-groomed multi-use forest trails and on community trails with Ridetheory. Pick up the Winter Trail Map before you go or use the Trailforks App.
