It ’ s tempting to wonder where Alex Rins would have finished 2022 had Suzuki not decided to quit MotoGP™ at the end of the year . Before the announcement , the Spaniard was firmly in title contention . But after he faded away with crashes in France and Italy . A broken wrist , courtesy of a collision in Barcelona , compounded a poor run . But Rins ’ late season form ( two wins from the final three races ) showed the 27-year old to be riding at the top of his game . A huge challenge awaits the former Moto3™ and Moto2™ championship runner up in 2023 , as he joins LCR Honda .

Resulta tentador preguntarse dónde habría acabado Alex Rins en 2022 si Suzuki no hubiera decidido abandonar MotoGP™ a final de año . Antes del anuncio , el español estaba firmemente en la lucha por el título , pero después se desvaneció con caídas en Francia e Italia . Una muñeca rota , debido a una colisión múltiple en Catalunya , agravó esa mala racha . Sin embargo , la forma de Rins al final de la temporada ( dos victorias en las tres últimas carreras ) demostró que el piloto de 27 años se encontraba al máximo de sus posibilidades de nuevo . El subcampeón de Moto3™ en 2013 y de Moto2™ en 2015 enfrentaba un gran desafío para 2023 con LCR Honda , el cual se vio mermado por las lesiones .
