Some doubts regarding Bezzecchi persisted when he joined MotoGP™ in 2022 . Sure , the Italian had shone in 2018 , when he surprisingly fought for the Moto3™ title for PruestelGP KTM , and then again in 2020 , his second season in Moto2™ , when he scored two victories . But his rookie year in Moto2™ in 2019 was nothing short of a disaster . And he failed to challenge either Remy Gardner or Raul Fernandez for the Moto2™ title when expected in 2021 . Yet Bezzecchi quickly showed his class last year , scoring nine top ten finishes , a pole position and a podium on his way to Rookie of the Year . He kicked on in 2023 , fighting for the title until the autumn of the year .

El ascenso de Bezzecchi a MotoGP™ en 2022 generó algunas dudas entre los más escépticos . El italiano ya brilló en 2018 , cuando luchó sorprendentemente por el título de Moto3™ junto al Pruestel GP KTM , y de nuevo en 2020 , en su segunda temporada en Moto2™ , cuando logró dos victorias . Sin embargo , su debut en Moto2™ en 2019 fue bastante complicado . Y no pudo desafiar ni a Remy Gardner ni a Raúl Fernández por la corona de Moto2™ cuando más se le esperaba en 2021 .
