10 MINS WITH

Jack Miller

Will be Jack Miller the first rider to win MotoGP races for three different manufacturers ?
I ' m fortunate enough to be in the position that I ' ve won on a Honda and I ' ve won on a Ducati and I have the chance to possibly win on a KTM . It ' s a big motivation for me this challenge . I ' m fortunate enough to be in that position . Like Maverick [ Viñales ] has at the moment , he ' s the only other guy on the grid now that can do that . So it ' s kind of a race between him and I and who can get it . I ' m just Jack Miller here trying to do the best job that I can do . And if that ' s what I can do , then that would be amazing .
A new chapter with KTM Having this new challenge and having this new dynamic of working with the guys at KTM has really lit a fire on me that feels amazing to have and we ' re only at the beginning of our relationship and it ' s going well so far . It ' s not been an easy stage or an easy learning process because you need to understand what the bike wants , what the bike needs and then also what you need from the bike . Bringing my crew chief across , and Alby as well , has been really a big help in the direction of improving my feeling with the KTM and also improving hopefully the performance of the KTM . These guys have done a fantastic job with such a bike with such little experience because it ' s a completely new engine , it ' s a completely new engine and new chassis . We ' ve seen bikes take years to become competitive . I think what they ' ve done over the winter has been nothing short of a miracle . I don ' t want to push this out any longer . I want to try and be there as soon as possible like everybody and that ' s their ultimate goal . It ' s KTM , it ' s what they ' ve done in every single other championship they ' ve ever been in , it ' s tried to dominate and , they are trying to build a winning team and I think they ' re on the right way . I just hope I can be the writer for that . My role is quite important , especially coming off the Ducati last season to the KTM . I am understanding my feedback on the bikes I ' ve ridden in the past and where they were at and where we ' re at and what that bike did differently , not trying to replicate that in any way , but trying to understand . In general , the characteristics of the bikes are always going to be different . The way that we can take maybe the strongest points of the KTM and electronically what I ' ve worked in the past with traction control and stuff like that , both with the Honda and with the Ducati . I understand that philosophy and what I believe in my ridding seems to , or what I need in my ridding style to make myself improve , has been probably one of the biggest points .
Target for the 2023 season The ultimate goal is of course to try to win this season . We didn ' t come here to finish third in the championship . Is it possible ? We ' ll have to wait and see . That ' s the goal . That ' s why I go training every morning , that ' s why I go through all the dieting and all of that stuff . I don ' t do it for fun . There ' s a lot of things that go on behind the scenes and , you know , a lot of people talk and you try not to listen to a lot of it . Seeing a lot of people ride off the KTM in the last couple of years and then a lot of people turn their noses up and say no , I don ' t want to ride it or I don ' t want to do this and I don ' t want to do . At the end of the day , this is the greatest job in the world and to have the opportunity to ride one of these monsters , these MotoGP beasts , is amazing . So I enjoy the pressure . And this just puts up a fire in my stomach because you want to prove these people wrong . I ' ve done it . I don ' t know how many times in my career and it just feels all the better every single time . I ' m getting older now and I understand that my time is running out , but I still feel I have lot left to give to the sport .
