By any rider ’ s standards , 2022 was a bad year for Joan Mir . But for the 2020 MotoGP™ World Champion , last year ’ s 15th place overall was nothing short of disastrous . Touted to fight for the title , the Majorcan was badly affected by Suzuki ’ s decision to withdraw from the series at the close of last year . It meant we saw little of the rider who won the Moto3™ title so dominantly in 2017 , winning a record 10 races along the way . Or the rider who shocked the world by winning the 2020 MotoGP™ World Championship , only the sixth rider to do in Suzuki colours . But a switch to Repsol Honda has seen his career stall .
