Some doubts regarding Bezzecchi persisted when he joined MotoGP™ in 2022 . Sure , the Italian had shone in 2018 , when he surprisingly fought for the Moto3™ title for PruestelGP KTM , and then again in 2020 , his second season in Moto2™ , when he scored two victories . But his rookie year in Moto2™ in 2019 was nothing short of a disaster . And he failed to challenge either Remy Gardner or Raul Fernandez for the Moto2™ title when expected in 2021 . Yet Bezzecchi quickly showed his class last year , scoring nine top ten finishes , a pole position and a podium on his way to Rookie of the Year . Expect big things in 2023 .
