Returning fully fit from a serious knee injury that forced him to miss three races the previous year , his first full season in Yamaha ’ s factory team yielded just two top ten finishes – and 206 points less than his team-mate . It was all a far cry from the rider that lit up the Moto2™ class , winning it outright in 2017 , becoming the first member of the VR46 Academy to be World Champion . Not to mention the rider who finished runner up in MotoGP™ in 2020 on a year-old Satellite Yamaha . Morbidelli has the speed . But he has it all to prove again .
