HOW TO MASTER Sachsenring Circuit ?
A brief explanatory with MotoGP™ rider Augusto Fernandez , from GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 , regarding how to best approach the German track . The current Moto2 World Champion won the intermediate class race last year and he took the chequered flag more than seven seconds ahead of the second classified .
To be smooth
First of all , if you want to master the Sachsenring Circuit , you have to be very smooth on the track . The grip is low , and you cannot really attack any corners , so you have to find the flow and be very smooth .
Rear Grip
Number two , you have to work all weekend to find the rear grip , because you have a lot of left corners , and the drop of the tyres is very important , and you have to manage it . It is important to find the grip for the end of the race .
Qualifying
In third place , it ’ s very important to have a good qualifying on Saturday morning , because you don ’ t have a lot of places to overtake , so it ’ s very important to be in the first row of the starting grid .
Hotspot
Personally , if I would have to choose the hotspot , I ’ ll say Turn 1 . It ’ s the easiest . However , you can find other places on the back straight , for example corner number 12 . In my opinion , those two are the easiest places to overtake .
