Like Albon , the three guys mentioned earlier will be back here in 2025 and beyond , although Russell currently only has one year left on his Mercedes deal .
So who else is likely to join them as a home driver on a future Silverstone grid ? Bearman is the obvious candidate , and the teenager could well land a fulltime seat at Haas next year , with a gentle nudge from Ferrari . Indeed he may even get more race experience with Haas at some stage this season if Kevin Magnussen triggers a one-race ban by reaching 12 penalty points .
This weekend ’ s F2 grid also includes Williams protégé Zak O ’ Sullivan and the McLaren-connected Taylor Barnard , both of whom joined the ranks of 2024 race winners in Monaco . Looking down a step to F3™ , Luke Browning , another Williams junior , might not be too far away from an F1 chance as he leads the F3 title race , while Arvid Lindblad is also a regular frontrunner .
In other words while Hamilton may now be closer to the end of his career than the start , there ’ s no shortage of candidates to capture the attention of the Silverstone crowd in years to come . Watch this space … •
