Fireworks will close out the Delano 4th of July Celebration.
Some of the most well-known music acts in the region
will take the stage to cap each day’s entertainment
during the Delano 4th of July Celebration, including Arch
Allies, Johnny Holm Band, Hitchville, and Kat Perkins and
the Good Times Band.
The 2020 celebration will take place Wednesday, July 1,
through Saturday, July 4.
Wednesday’s events will include a cribbage tournament
the Delano Ambassador Coronation, juggler and unicyclist
Sean Emery, and the beginning of the baseball and
softball tournaments. The M8Ds will take the stage under
the entertainment tent at 7 p.m., followed by headliners
Arch Allies at 9 p.m.
Arch Allies considers themselves the “ultimate 6 pack of
rock featuring the music of Bon Jovi, Boston, Def Leppard,
Journey, REO Speedwagon, and Styx. The band features
Greyson Serie on vocals and guitar, Kevin Todd on lead
guitar, John Gensmer on drums, Rich Torkington on keys,
and Eli Pete on bass.
Thursday will feature the art chalk contest, new act Allez-
OOPS! on the family stage, Red Dot Garage at 7 p.m. and
the Johnny Holm Band at 9 p.m.
Johnny Holm, known as the human jukebox, plays a wide
variety of hit music from several genres and eras, and will
bring his highly-entertaining show back to Delano for the
second year in a row.
Friday’s events will include a new CrossFit competition,
the University of Minnesota Raptor Center show, Allez-
OOPS!, the fi reman’s waterball tournament, the kiddie
parade, the kiddie pedal pull, Mitch Gordon at 7 p.m. and
Hitchville at 9 p.m.
Hitchville has quickly solidifi ed themselves among the
upper echelon of regional talent. Under the foundational
leadership of dynamic lead vocalists Heidi Owens and
Matthew Kneefe, the group’s trademark harmonies, down
home personalities, and kinetic stage energy leads to an
unforgettable live show in which the band works tirelessly
to produce.
The 4th of July will, as always, be jam-packed with
events and activities. It all starts with the 5K race along the
parade route, followed by the parade itself, the bean bag
tournament, the High 48’s Bluegrass Band on the family
stage, two performances by 4th of July newcomer and
comic magician Jerry Frasier on the family stage, Allez
OOPS!, Annie Mack at 7 p.m. and Kat Perkins and the
Good Time Band at 9 p.m.
Kat Perkins grew up in Scranton, ND, and moved to the
Twin Cities to pursue music on a professional scale. Her
band, Scarlet Haze, opened for Bon Jovi and other well-
known acts. After a hiatus from performing due to vocal
surgery, Perkins made a comeback on season 6 of NBC’s
“The Voice,” where she was a fi nalist. She has gone on
to tour throughout the country and beyond, including
performing for troops overseas.
Other highlights of the celebration include a medallion
hunt beginning Friday, June 26, and baseball and softball
tournaments throughout the celebration. In addition,
carnival wristbands for unlimited rides will be available
from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and noon to
10 p.m. every other day.
