Delano Cub Scout Pack 273
The Delano Cub Scout Pack 273 was founded in 1950. Cub
Scouts is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The purpose of the organization is to provide an educational
program for children to build their quality of character, to
train in the responsibilities of participating as a citizen, and to
develop personal fitness. Personal fitness includes physical,
mental, and emotional fitness.
There are about 70 scouts and 10 adult leaders in the
organization, which usually meets the last Monday of
each month at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Individual
dens meet separately twice a month as well to work on
achievements.
Special projects or events include Scouting for Food,
Memorial Day parade, Fourth of July parade, youth overnight
camping, Pinewood Derby Races, day camps, Blue and
Gold Banquet, and Crow River Clean-up.
Each year in September there is a special signup night for
youth interested in joining the Scouting program, known as
School Night for Scouting, or they can join Scouts at any time
throughout the year.

Delano Ducks Unlimited
Ducks Unlimited (DU) is the world’s leader in wetlands and
waterfowl conservation.
DU got its start in 1937 during the Dust Bowl when North
America’s drought-plagued waterfowl populations had
plunged to unprecedented lows. Determined not to sit idly
by as the continent’s waterfowl dwindled beyond recovery,
a small group of sportsmen joined together to form an
organization that became known as Ducks Unlimited. Its
mission: habitat conservation.
The local chapter hosts a banquet each fall. For additional
information on the Delano chapter, call Galen Hayes at 612-
685-3779, Bryan Baumann at 952-955-2223, Jeff Graunke
at 763-442-5939, or Chairman Cory Cederberg at 763-972-
2540.
Delano Farmers Market
The market is located on the corner of Highway 12 and
County Line Road in the Flippin’ Bills parking lot. It is open
May through October, Wednesdays, from 2 to 6 p.m.
