C. Effective 1998, all judge applicant files must be complete,
including references and other required criteria, before the
LOC will issue invitations for applicants to attend clinics.
LO-041 Show Stewards
(Effective 2011)
The AMHA Show Steward Program is designed as a resource
for the AMHA and Show Management to assist in managing the
quality and quantity of task management at AMHA show events.
Show Stewards will assist the AMHA and Show Management as
an intermediary, liaison, and representative as needed within
the parameters of the AMHA Rulebook as pertaining to Horse
Shows, the rules and regulations of the Association, and in the
spirit of serving the membership.
Stewards will be required at the Regional & World Championship
Shows.
A. Applications
Must be 19 years of age or older at the time of application.
The AMHA Show Steward must be either a Regular, Associate, or
Lifetime member. Such AMHA membership must be paid and
current at the time of application or annual renewal. Memberships
for AMHA Show Stewards are based on a calendar year.
Applicants must complete all phases of the established procedures
of the LOC committee. Such procedures are available from the
LOC Coordinator in the AMHA office.

more information about the Steward Program.
LO-042 COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
Effective at the 2013 Annual Meeting, the Licensed Officials
Committee shall consist of eight (8) Regular Members. At each
Annual Meeting, the longest tenured member will rotate off the
committee. In the case of two or more members with the same
tenure, the LOC committee will vote to determine that member
who will rotate off. A replacement will be elected from the
General Membership. The member that rotates off the committee

B. Renewals
1. Approved Show Stewards must attend and successfully
complete an AMHA Official Show Steward Seminar every
three (3) calendar years. Show Stewards must pass an
Annual written examination consisting of AMHA Show
Rules and Rules and Regulations of the Association.
2. The Show Steward’s approval is for one year (calendar
year). The Show Steward must pay an annual renewal fee
and pass an open rulebook test which will be provided to
the show steward.
