 10. If a stallion changes ownership, use of the frozen semen is limited to the current, recorded owner. The new owner must re-apply for a new transported semen permit. 11. Ownership of semen already frozen by the previous owner/lessee must be resolved between the seller and buyer. 12. If a stallion is leased, the use of the frozen semen by the lessee is restricted to the time period (beginning to ending date) of the lease only. 13. Gelding of the stallion will preclude the use of the frozen semen as of the date of gelding. 192C EMBRYO TRANSFER The offspring foaled by a mare that is not its genetic dam but transferred to her by embryo transfer shall be eligible for registration if, in addition to all other Association registration rules, the following conditions are met. 1. N  otification must be submitted to AMHA ten (10) days prior to the intent to perform transfer by the recorded owner or authorized agent of the donor mare. The notifcation must include: a. The registered name and number of the donor mare, the breeding stallion and the name and location where the intended transfer is to take place. b. The sire and donor mare must be DNA tested prior to embryo transfer and the results on file at AMHA. c. The non-refundable fee for the embryo permit must be paid each year that a transfer is to be performed. A substitution cannot be made. Fee—See Fee Schedule Notice of intention to transport the embryo with notice of intended collection shall be given to the Association for eligibility for such embryo transportation as specified above. 2. A form must be submitted to AMHA at the time of transplant signed by the licensed veterinarian noting the registration information on the stallion, the donor mare and the recipient mare and the place, date and time of insemination. 3. The application for registration and the breeder’s certificate for a foal resulting from an embryo transfer must be signed by the owner of the dam at time of transfer. 61 RULES & REGULATIONS 14. Disputes arising between current or previous owners of stallions and/or mare and stallion owners will not involve AMHA. The Association may not be used to protect, defend or enforce the use of the semen. Any dispute must be resolved by the individuals.
