SHOW RULES their current Amateur cards with horse show entries. If an exhibitor does not have an amateur card at a show, they may apply and pay a fee at that show when making their entries. The entry form will be marked pending making them eligible to exhibit at that show. The fee and application will accompany the show results to the AMHA office. (Amended 2-20-04, effective 01-05) d. AMHA membership is NOT required for an amateur card. e. Amateur card fees will be charged to AMHA members and non-members on an annual basis. These fees will be published in the annual fee schedule. 5. Amateur Division level 1 and 2 (50 pointes Amended 11-06, effective 01-07) a. Level One Amateur 1. Q  ualify under existing amateur rules. 2. M  ay have competed in AMHA amateur classes for no more than two (2) calendar years or accumulated no more than 50 lifetime Honor Roll points (whichever come later). The AMHA office will automatically calculate points and determine years shown in January of every year. Each year in January a computer generated letter will be mailed only to the exhibitors who have exceeded the criteria for level 1 and have been moved to level 2. (Amended 11-10-00, effective 01-02) 3.Each division to be considered separately. (i.e. Halter, Performance) b. Level Two Amateur 1. Q  ualify under existing amateur rules. 2. E  xceeded Level one maximums as stated above. 3. A  ny professional who is applying or reapplying for their Amateur card and has fulfilled those requirements must enter the Amateur program as a Level 2. A “Professional” is defined as someone who has accepted remuneration for showing any horse at halter or in performance competition, training, schooling either horses or other persons or who has conducted seminars, clinics, given instruction in showing, training or judging for remuneration. Any points earned or time acquired by a youth in the 13-18 Youth Division should carry over into the Amateur Division and will affect the determination of his or her Amateur Level 1 or Level 2 status. If a Level one amateur chooses to: voluntarily/prematurely move into an advanced level of amateur, he/she may do so, however, that person relinquishes any future right to show at Level one. 148
