E. Points A contestant may exhibit more than one horse; however, the points earned by the youth with each horse will be compiled separately. 1. Points will be compiled on a one horse/one youth basis in Youth events with the exception of showmanship points. Showmanship points will remain with the exhibitor. 2. Points are to be awarded on the same basis used in Adult division. 3. For World High Point Awards, points will be compiled on youth exhibitors from January 1 to December 31. 4. In the event the horse is sold, a new start must be made by the new owner. F. No youth 12 years of age and under may show stallions with the exception of weanling and yearling colts. G.  Youth Showmanship at Halter Rules: Refer to CL-080 Showmanship. (Amended 6-12-04, effective 01-05) SHOW RULES H. Headers for Youth Special Needs Halter classes (all ages) are optional (except driving) and may enter the ring during the class with the youth. Headers in 7 & under Halter classes are mandatory, and optional in 8-12 and 13-18 classes. Headers for these classes may enter the ring once the judging has been completed and the horses are retired to the rail. (Amended 02-06, effective 01-07)  Youth or Special Needs driving classes requiring an accompanying person for safety, (Adult for all Youth classes), requires that the accompanying person remain in the cart at all times until the exhibitor leaves the arena. A separate header will be required for all youth drivers with an accompanying adult. The accompanying adult will not assist the driver verbally or physically. The touching of the driver by hand will constitute assistance. The accompanying adult’s hands must remain on the seat, on the cart, or in their own lap. Any assistance will result in automatic disqualification of that entry. AM-000 AMATEUR DIVISION All amateurs who have applied for an Amateur Card and/or enter an AMHA Amateur Class are responsible for knowing the division rules. Any person who violates an established amateur rule shall be subject to disciplinary action which may include loss of amateur status for 12 months or more from the date of infraction, loss of awards/points/winnings for the show in which the infraction occurred and/or for the entire show year.
