SHOW RULES comply with the ownership requirements as specified in Rule AM-010 B. 2. Points toward an AMHA Amateur Championship need not be earned in any one year. 3. The title AMHA Amateur Champion shall be awarded after the amateur has earned a total of fifty (50) or more points in amateur competition in official AMHA shows provided: a. That the points have been won in seven (7) or more shows under seven (7) or more judges. b. That at least twenty (20) of these points have been won in halter classes, (i.e.: Amateur halter mares or Amateur halter geldings. c. That at least fifteen (15) of these points have been won in performance classes with a minimum of five (5) points each having been earned in at least two (2) categories of performance. d. The following amateur performance events have been divided into four (4) categories: Category 1 - Amateur Showmanship Category 2 - Amateur Single Pleasure Driving Amateur Roadster Driving Amateur Country Pleasure Driving Amateur Classic Pleasure Driving Category 3 - Amateur Halter Obstacle Amateur Driving Obstacle Category 4 - Amateur Hunter Amateur Jumper  When the title “Amateur Champion” is achieved, the amateur may request the proper certificate from the AMHA office; after verification, the certificate shall be prepared and forwarded to that amateur. Amateur Superior Event Horse (Established 1998) This title shall be awarded to any amateur provided the amateur and his/her horse have earned seventy-five (75) or more points in any one recognized event. When the title “Amateur Superior Event Horse” is achieved, the amateur may request the proper certificate from the AMHA office; after verification, the certificate shall be prepared and forwarded to that amateur. (Amended 07-13-02, effective 01-03) D. Amateur Register of Merit (Established 1998) The purpose of the Register of Merit is to establish a record of performance. 1. Horses are awarded a Register of Merit when they have earned at least twenty (20) points in any one class. 2. For list of classes eligible for ROM see PA-030-E 1- 47. 3. When the title “Amateur Register of Merit” is achieved, the amateur may request the proper certificate from the AMHA office; after verification, the certificate shall be prepared and forwarded to that amateur.
