NATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS Wall of Hands Team at Auburn with their wall full of hands. This year we raised a record-breaking $344,173 in support of The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) programs for three years at Gillen Primary School, Alice Springs and literacy packs for Indigenous students nationally. The support of Gillen Primary School means their more than 300 students will receive the support from their teachers they need, through ALNF’s Early Language and Literacy Program (EL&L). The program equips educators, parents and community members with the knowledge and tools required to work with their own children to develop foundational language and literacy skills. One of the challenges when working with marginalised communities is the lack 24 of resources and supplies. The literacy packs aim to help remove this barrier and provide students with items such as folders, calculators, pens and pencils which, in conjunction with EL&L program, give these students the best change of achieving through education. Our stores play a pivotal role in achieving these results and there are a lot of highlights from this year. Here are just a few of them: • Chadstone (Vic) - $10,675 (More than $9,000 on last year). • NSW 1 – Raising more than $42,000. • Lewisham (NSW) – Highest % of donations in relation to sells.
