Helping Growing Families at Officeworks In March, Sarah Hunter (Managing Director) and Rebecca Oakley (General Manager — Human Resources) announced the new Growing Families Policy to replace the previous Parental Leave Policy. Since joining the business, Rebecca and Sarah had received a lot of feedback from team members across the country via the Half Yearly Leadership Updates and other conversations. One of the common themes that came through strongly, was that our paid parental policy was not fit for purpose. The OLT agree and feel the refreshed policy will better support growing families across the business and help make bigger things happen at home. The announcement of the new policy was met with excitement by team members who are growing their families — whether currently expecting or planning on growing their family in the future. Here’s what just a few of our team members had to say: ‘As soon as I heard about this new scheme I felt instant relief, it makes such a huge difference for myself and my husband. I personally wanted to thank everyone involved as I’m sure this is going to make such a big difference in our team members lives.’ Raeza Nanfra (Coordinator) from Officeworks Carnegie (Vic) ‘I think it’s a great initiative. Many people go through different phases and changes in their life, and to have a workplace that can support you through these periods is fantastic. I’m now getting ready to enter that chapter in my life where I will be a first-time parent, and this will give me more time bond with my child during those first months of its life, and who wouldn’t want that?’ Glen Retallack (Business Specialist External) 4
